Draft Schedules (Game Times Coming)

We are still waiting for all 7th grade players to register with payment to determine if we have enough players to hold an 8th B team. We will make final decisions on Friday Dec 3. 

Thanks for your patience as we begin to put schedules together. 

Note:  No practices Dec 21 - Dec 30.  Plan your holiday!

Feeder Basketball Details

We are excited to kick off the feeder season after being off 2 years. The sport has taken a hit in terms of programs offering teams to play for and the game structure is expected to change since the exit of the Northern Illinois Girls Feeder League. All things considered, we have a plan. 

In this first season back, we have the Lake County Challengers club program coordinating the training and coaching. This is going to provide more expertise on training and coaching.

Game structure changes for 2022 only

For the boys teams (8th, 7th and 6th) they will compete in the Play Hard Hoops boys league. Expect a few feeder games at the field house and other school locations.

Annual Bulldog Tournament Due to Covid rules we were not permitted to plan for the host Grant tournament. Therefore, we will cover that tournament by adding one to the overall schedule. This tournament will resume in 2023.
Program Cost The 2021 - 2022 cost overall was reduced from the previous year due to the lack of teams competing, economic hardships and to allow for a rebound after a couple seasons without basketball. The uniform cost was also included in the overall package without the obligation to sell raffle tickets. 
Staff Support 

These roles are coaches and gym monitors for this season. Typically, we would require double the resources to run the program. This year it does not require the help. 

 

Gym monitors: People needed to watch over school on game days, ensure the gym is cleaned up, understand how to work the scoreboard for home games when users have trouble. Important: As a monitor you may be needed to cover games days in conflict with your child's game times. 

Volunteers Volunteers are needed to help with team coordination and will be assigned by team coaches for this season. 
Financial Assistance and Contest

After reviewing the 2021-202 budget are not able to offer financial assistance due to the price drop already provided and in conflict with the increased cost for tournaments, uniform cost waived and loss of tournament for this season.

Potential Tri-Meet

There is potential for a tri-meet. We are not sure if we will host one, but if we do, we will need 4 volunteers to help run the small competition in February. This support will off pay.

Payment Plans:

  • Four payment installments over the course of 4 months make it easier for you to afford the cost of the program (not eligible for cash payments).
  • Paid in full option gives you an automatic $60 discount off the season total.
  • We do not accept checks.
